The fund seeks to achieve a positive return over the medium to long term, in excess of normal cash deposit rates. It will invest in a range of assets including collective investment schemes, closed-ended funds, transferable securities, money market instruments and cash/deposits. Although the fund manager will look for opportunities globally, the fund limits the amount it can invest in equities and is likely to always maintain exposure to fixed interest and cash assets. A cautiously managed fund is suitable for investors who in return for their capital being exposed to less risk are prepared to accept lower potential returns. The fund seeks to outperform other funds in the “cautious managed” sector.
