The Global Forestry Growth Fund is set up to provide investors with an opportunity to benefit from long term capital growth opportunities from investing directly and indirectly in sustainable forestry plantations in Brazil. Investments of the Fund are based on positive selection criteria to ensure that investments in Forestry related assets are ethical, sustainable, environmentally sound, and socially proactive.
The assets in which the Fund invests in are commercially sustainable Teak plantations in Brazil. The forestry industry in Brazil is one of the largest and most well established in the world. The international rating agency Coface places Brazil in the “A” rankings in respect of country risk basis.
- An open-ended fund that seeks to deliver above average returns for investors through a sustainable asset class in the form of Teak trees
- Offer investors a passively managed forestry fund strategy
- Offer returns with minimal correlation to traditional financial markets
- Fund assets are valued using the expected future cash flows from future Teak sales which is validated by an independent third party
Target Market
This investment could be suitable as part of an investment portfolio for investors who:
- understand the benefits and risks of funds that invest in forestry both directly and indirectly; and,
- are able to invest for the medium term i.e. a period of at least five years; and,
- are prepared to accept investment risk to their capital in return for a higher potential growth than would be available via a deposit based investment
