EAMONN LING, HEAD OF INVESTMENT

Based in Singapore, Eamonn was appointed Head of Investment in 2009, and is responsible for steering product development choices for Catalyst across both the retail and institutional markets. His day-to-day role focuses on the structuring and development of investment products, with an emphasis on income-generation, portfolio diversification and liability-driven investment strategies. Eamonn comes to Catalyst following a distinguished career in financial services, having worked for pedigree blue chip institutions including Citibank, Barclays Capital and ABN Amro Bank. Additionally, Eamonn has worked for a number of private equity and hedge fund operations, specialising in product engineering. He holds a BSc from Imperial College, London, and an MBA from London Business School, awarded with distinction.


ALISON MORAN, COMPLIANCE AND MONEY LAUNDERING REPORTING OFFICER

Alison Moran studied law at both degree and postgraduate level (King's College, London), before passing the Bar Vocational Course and being called to the Bar (Lincoln's Inn) in 1999. Alison initially joined Catalyst as an advisor on day-to-day legal issues, before moving on to head its Compliance department. Alison is currently studying for the SII Diploma in Investment Compliance.


MARTYN KNIGHT, consultant

Martyn Knight is a Chartered Accountant who began corporate life as an auditor at Smith & Williamson, followed by a period as a corporate recovery manager at Touche Ross & Co (now Deloitte & Touche LLP). Martyn later moved into the financial scene, becoming involved with several venture capital backed businesses and playing a key role in orchestrating several successful trade sales. He has acted as Finance Director/Controller for several media, IT, retail, fashion and leisure sector companies.


MORAY MACPHERSON, HEAD OF LEGAL & RISK MANAGEMENT

Moray Macpherson was educated at Lincoln College, Oxford, and has been involved in corporate transactions since qualifying as a solicitor in 1985. He has vast experience working with private equity funds including 3i, Close Brothers Private Equity, Gresham, Inflexion, Hg Capital, Barclays Ventures, Advent and Lloyds Development Capital. Moray has also been a partner at various law firms, including within the capacity of Head of M&A at Osborne Clarke and Head of Legal at KPMG Private Equity Group.


DAVID WATSON, CORPORATE FINANCE, RISK ANALYSIS

David Watson acquired a bachelor's and master's degree in economics and finance at Manchester University, before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers in London. David acted as Finance Director of British American Insurance and has extensive UK and international business experience, principally within financial services and media. He has edited various investment publications and is the author of investment guide, Business Models.

 

RICHARD PEAT, LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE - EXTERNAL CONSULTANT

Richard Peat is a highly regarded independent practitioner who is regularly instructed by Catalyst to provide independent help and advice on legal and compliance issues. Richard is a Barrister practising at 13 Old Square, Lincoln's Inn, specialising in financial services regulatory law and practice. Previously, Richard worked in-house for the Investment Management Regulatory Organisation (IMRO) before moving to the Financial Services Authority in 1988.
